Craig N. Kaser, Partner

Craig N. Kaser established TerreMark Partners on the principal of creating landmark real estate developments that enhance their communities. TerreMark specializes in the identification and development of retail destinations throughout the United States, providing research analysis, strategic positioning and merchandising, leasing and marketing services.

Kaser's background spans 25 years in shopping center development and leasing, including groundbreaking urban entertainment centers, regional mall renovations and new center developments. He served as senior vice president of Cousins Properties in Atlanta, where he was responsible for the development and leasing of the "The Avenue" lifestyle centers. As executive vice president of Ben Carter Properties in Atlanta, Kaser was instrumental in the design, strategic direction and leasing of the 1.4 million square foot Mall of Georgia. These concepts were unprecedented at the time, and have been widely replicated in numerous markets.

Kaser also served as executive vice president for Primerica in New York City, vice president for The Paramount Group in New York City and vice president for Sam Zell's Equity Group in Chicago. He has been directly involved in retail developments and portfolio re-positioning with Northwestern Mutual, MetLife, The Paramount Group, TrizecHahn and Carter and Associates.

Credited with over 15 million square feet of retail development, Kaser embraces a solid research-based approach. In addition, he is known for infusing creativity to generate uniqueness and synergy for each development. His approach is a proven method to maximize value for both owners and tenants.

Kaser has been involved in many industry "firsts" in his career. He has been instrumental in developments that have been widely reproduced in the industry, either conceptually or elementally. Many set the stage for future developments in the industry:

  • The first regional mall with streetscape "village" connectivity in the U.S., The Mall of Georgia (Atlanta, GA)
  • One of the first lifestyle concept centers in the U.S., The Avenue East Cobb (Atlanta, GA) and the subsequent roll out of additional Avenue centers
  • First crescent-shaped, Teflon-roofed lifestyle center in the U.S., Southgate Plaza (Sarasota, FL)

TerreMark Partners' recent projects demonstrate strategic capitalization on market trends such as urban infill and mixed-use applications. Clients include Bank of America's corporate campus in center city Charlotte, North Carolina which incorporates office, hotel and retail in new and existing space. For WCB Properties, TerreMark is assisting in the development of a mixed-use infill project in Anaheim, California.

TerreMark's development arm is working with the City of Akron, Ohio on an innovative integration of two mixed-use projects in downtown Akron (Lock 3 and Main St. Akron) that will add public space to the central business district.

TerreMark Partners, Inc. is headquartered in metro Atlanta. Kaser attended Michigan State University, and is a member of International Council of Shopping Centers and Urban Land Institute.
